TÖNNJES E.A.S.T. TO PRESENT ELECTRONIC VEHICLE IDENTIFICATION PRODUCTS IN AMSTERDAM

German company Tönnjes E.A.S.T. presented its latest electronic vehicle identification (EVI) products at the Intertraffic Trade Fair, held this week in Amsterdam, the Netherlands. The firm's solutions include its IDePLATE RFID license plate, IDeSTIX RFID windscreen sticker and IDeTRUST software.

The company's modular security systems are already being used in several countries, including Honduras, the Philippines, Kenya, Saudi Arabia and Turkey, where they are successfully protecting vehicles, registration documents and license plates against manipulation, forgery and theft. This RFID technology, with a UCODE DNA chip, allows the electronic, contactless and encrypted identification of vehicles in still and moving traffic.

"Intertraffic is always an exciting trade fair for us," said Dietmar Mönning, the firm's managing director, in a prepared statement, "because many of our joint venture partners and associates also attend and share interesting news and developments."

Tönnjes E.A.S.T. develops digital license plates and safety features for vehicles, and also tailored facilities and machinery for the production of license plates. At the end of last year, the company was commissioned by the Italian Government Printing Institute, the Institutio Poligrafico e Zecca dello Stato (IPZS), to carry out a fully automated production of license plates. Starting in late 2018, around six million license plates will be manufactured annually at a new plant near Turin.
