Tönnjes Middle East GmbH has once again received a significant order from the Roads and Transport Authority (RTA) in Dubai. The new contract covers the delivery of a total of 6.9 million licence plate blanks over a period of three years. The collaboration has been in place for more than 20 years through our long-standing partner company Al Zarouni International Equipment LLC, which acts as a contractual partner to the RTA.
As part of the emirate’s e-government strategy, new machines and software solutions were installed in an existing licence plate factory in Dubai in 2019. Four IDePRESS machines, two automated IDeROBOT systems and the central control software IDeTRUST OMS were delivered. This processes registration data in real time, distributes production orders to machines and documents each production step using an individual plate ID code. Since 2020, eleven additional external embossing stations have been connected to the central system. TÖNNJES has delivered more than 16 million blanks to Dubai over the past two decades.
‘We are delighted to be continuing our long-standing cooperation with the RTA and would like to thank our partner Al Zarouni for the trust they have placed in us for over two decades,’ says Markus Müller, Managing Director at TÖNNJES. ‘The new major order confirms the performance of our system and our joint success in Dubai.’
Detailed planning for the first deliveries under the new order has already begun. Production quantities, delivery dates and logistical processes are currently being coordinated with the responsible parties on site. Production has already started.
