Representatives from five different countries, including national registration authorities and officials from Mauritania, CapeVerde, Liberia, and Mali, gathered in Dakar to celebrate the official opening of Afriplaque’s new state-of-the-art production facility.
The new plant, covering an area of 800 m², is twice the size of the previous site and offers significant capacity for future expansions. With this new facility, Afriplaque can now produce up to 8 million security license plates annually – doubling its previous capacity of 4 million.
Marie Rosalie Diop Gomis, General Manager of Afriplaque, highlighted the successful implementation of the project and the significance of the new production site: “This modern facility is a major milestone for Afriplaque and the entire region. We are proud to operate the only production site for security license plates in West Africa and now to offer state-of-the-art BIS signs as well.” The new plant features cutting-edge equipment, is fully air-conditioned, and is strategically located for optimal logistics. This ensures not only efficient production but also an optimal supply of high-quality security license plates to regional markets.
