In late October, the Swedish court of appeal issued a final ruling in favor of TÖNNJES and its local partner TRR Svenska Fordonsskyltar AB. This decision confirms the Transportstyrelsen’s contract award for the production of Swedish license plates.
The contract covers a 3+1-year term, with production set to begin in summer 2026. Around one million license plates will be manufactured annually. During the interim phase, TÖNNJES successfully set up and tested the entire production line, including robotics, personalization, and fully digital process control.
The automated IDeRobot with an integrated camera-laser system engraves individual Vehicle Identification Numbers (VIN) directly onto each plate. Production management, warehousing, and logistics are fully digitized and controlled through the TÖNNJES IDeTRUST Order Management Suite.
